Atlantic 10 Conference Releases 2017-18 Commissioner’s Honor Roll
June 8, 2018
NEWPORT NEWS, Va.— The Atlantic 10 Conference announced Thursday that 3,168 student-athletes, 50.3 percent of all A-10 student-athletes, earned 2017-18 Commissioner’s Honor Roll distinction, which recognizes excellence in the classroom.
This marks the first time the Commissioner’s Honor Roll has been based on the entire academic year. Previously the award was granted following each semester. To be selected for the Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete in an Atlantic 10-sponsored sport must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and freshmen are eligible to receive the award.
The 3,168 student-athletes is the highest number of unique honorees in a single year. In previous years, the Commissioner’s Honor Roll number was calculated by combining the fall and spring semester totals.
Each school placed an average of 226 student-athletes on the honor roll, with Duquesne having 231.
