James Alexander Named Director of Compliance
June 19, 2006
Duquesne University director of athletics Greg Amodio announced today that James Alexander has been named director of compliance. Alexander, who will be responsible for the coordination of all NCAA Division I, Atlantic 10 Conference and Duquesne University compliance procedures, officially joined the athletics staff on Monday, June 19.
Alexander, 33, comes to Duquesne after spending the past two years as the assistant director of compliance at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y. Prior to that, he worked in the compliance office at Xavier University while taking classes toward a master's degree in sports administration.
"I am pleased to add James to our staff," said Amodio. "He has excellent knowledge of NCAA compliance procedures and is also familiar with the Atlantic 10 from his time at Xavier. He is very knowledgeable and will greatly enhance our coaching and administrative staff's continued education of NCAA rules and regulations as the department pursues its athletics objectives."
A native of Dayton, Ohio, Alexander graduated from Bowling Green in 2002 with a sport management major. He is expected to complete work on his master's degree this summer.
