Athletic Department Adds Two to Staff

PITTSBURGH - The Duquesne University Department of Athletics announced the hiring of Laura Klimchock as Assistant Director of Student Services and Erik Kaminski as Assistant Director of Multimedia Operations.

Klimchock, a native of Greensburg, Pa., comes to the Bluff from Boston University where she served as Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Support Services since March. Prior to her move to Boston, she worked as a learning specialist for both the men's and women's basketball programs at Towson State and as a graduate assistant with the student-athlete services department at Akron.

A 2008 graduate of St. Vincent College, Klimchock was a four-year starter and two-year captain for the Bearcats' basketball team. She finished her playing career as the ninth-leading scorer in school history with 1,322 points. She completed her undergraduate degree in communication/public relations and advertising in 2008 and added a master's in education/sports administration from Akron in 2011.

Kaminski, who grew up in Murrysville, Pa., was the Director of New Media and Communications for the Northeast Conference for the past two years. Prior to working for the NEC, Kaminski was the Assistant Director for Athletic Communications at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pa. for three years. He also has experience in the sports information offices at both Robert Morris and Goucher College.

Kaminski is also a graduate of St. Vincent College, where he completed his undergraduate degree in communication in 2005. He added a master's in instructional leadership from Robert Morris in 2008.
