Members of the Duquesne Student Athlete Advisory Committee volunteered their time to collect and deliver toys to the UPMC Children's Hospital Child Life Program as part of their 6th annual Christmas Toy Drive.

Consistent with the service mission of Duquesne University, our student-athletes feel an increased sense of responsibility at this time of year to be positive change agents and give back to their community.

SAAC is a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. The purpose of this Student Athlete Advisory Committee is to:

1. Encourage more student-athlete involvement in campus and community projects, as well as leadership and development.

2. Serve as a liaison between student-athletes and the Athletic Department and Administration 3. Promote better communication and interaction between the members of the Duquesne University Intercollegiate Athletics teams, and emphasize communication to improve the overall athletic program

SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations and polices that affect student-athletes' lives on NCAA member institution campuses. The network of SAACs, from individual campus committees to the conference and/or national committees, interact and support one another to shape intercollegiate athletics policy and enhance the student-athlete experience.
