DU Makes it Two in a Row, Downs Monmouth, 11-7

Duquesne's baseball team won its second straight contest, defeating Monmouth, 11-7 on Saturday at Navy.
The Dukes jumped out to a 9-0 lead after four innings and held on for the win. Leading the Dukes on offesne was junior Mike Carroll who was 4-4 with five RBI. He had two singles, a double and a triple. Sophomore Mark Tracy was 2-4 with a run and an RBI and junior Anthony Manley was 1-3 with an RBI and three runs scored.
On the mound, junior Ryan Juran tossed the first five scoreless innings to collect his first win of the season. He allowed five hits and walked one while striking out four. Senior Jeremy Gerger completed the final four innings of the game, striking out four to earn his first save of the season.
The Dukes return to action on Sunday as the face host Navy at 2:30 pm.
