Dukes Get Back on Winning Track with 6-2 Win over Slippery Rock

Slippery Rock, Pa. - Duquesne's baseball team got back on the winning track with a 6-2 victory over nationally-ranked Division II Slippery Rock, Wednesday afternoon at The Rock's Jack Critchfield Park. The Dukes have won six of their last seven games.
Duquesne scored three in the first, one in the sixth and two in the seventh. Slippery Rock, ranked number 27 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper's National Division II poll, was held scoreless until the bottom of the ninth, when two runs crossed the plate. SRU is now 12-6.
M.J. Parsons (2-3) was the only Slippery Rock player to have a multi-hit game. Starter Craig Misiewicz was charged with the loss.
Duquesne (10-9, 3-0 A-10), which had to move the last two contests away from Pittsburgh because of the weather, returns to Atlantic 10 Conference play when they host Rhode Island (2-15, 0-3) in a three-game series beginning with a Friday, March 30, 2007, afternoon match. The game is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. start on Duquesne Field in the Green Tree suburbs.
