Dukes Split Doubleheader at St. Joe's

Duquesne's baseball team split a double-header at St. Joseph's Saturday afternoon, winning game one 7-0 and dropping game two, 4-2.

In game one, senior Jim Popp won his fifth straight game and improved to 5-2, allowing just four hits in his fourth complete game of the season. At the plate, junior Pete Maropis was 3-4 with three RBI. In game two, sophomore Bob Reifschneider also pitched a complete game and allowed just four hits in the loss.

The Red and Blue (14-14,6-2 A-10) return to action tomorrow as they face the Hawks (7-16,3-5 A-10) at noon in the final game of the weekend series.
