Dukes Take Two from Explorers

Duquesne's baseball team improved to 16-15 overall and 8-3 in Atlantic 10 play with a double-header sweep of visiting La Salle. The Dukes won game one, 19-4 and took the nightcap, 11-4.
In game one, Sean Wilson was 3-4 with six RBI and three runs scored while Chad Williams was 2-2 and Randy Vulakovich was 1-2 with a home run. On the mound, Jim Popp improved his record to a team-best 6-3, pitching four innings and striking out three.
In game two, Andy Gallina was 2-3 with two home runs, including a grand slam for a total of six RBI. Wilson was hot again with another 3-4 effort and Brian Frey was 2-4 with two RBI. Bob Reifschneider improved to 5-2 with his team-best fifth complete game.
The Dukes return to action tomorrow, Sunday, April 13 as they will face La Salle (7-15, 5-5 A-10) again at noon. The Duquesne Student Government Association's loop bus will again be available starting at 11:30 a.m at Gate B of the Palumbo Center.
