Dukes Complete Sweep of La Salle, 14-5

Duquesne's baseball team completed a three-game sweep of visiting La Salle by defeating the Explorers, 14-5 on Sunday at Duquesne Field. The Dukes improve to 17-15 overall and 9-3 in Atlantic 10 play. La Salle is now 7-16, 5-6 in the conference. Duquesne is in sole possession of second place in the West Division, game behind the Richmond Spiders.

Senior Chad Williams led the Duquesne offense with a 3-5 effort with two runs scored and two RBI. His batting average now stands at a team-best .392. Freshman Mike Grecco also contributed with a three-run home run, his third of the year.

On the mound, freshman Adam Haun collected his second win of the season, pitching 6 1/3 innings while striking out six. Senior Jesse Cramer threw the final 2 2/3 to pick up his first career save.

The Red and Blue return to the diamond on Tuesday as they host Cleveland State (6-16, 3-2 Horizon) at 3:00 p.m. on Duquesne Field in Green Tree. Duquesne is looking to even the season series with the Vikings who grabbed a 16-8 win on March 26th in Cleveland.
