Dukes Lose Getaway Game at GW, 7-3

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA - Duquesne's baseball team lost game three of its Easter weekend series to George Washington, 7-3, Sunday afternoon at Barcroft Park in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC. The Dukes are now 18-20, 9-6 in the Atlantic 10 while GW raised their season mark to 23-11, 4-5 A-10.
Senior Andy Gallina (Mt. Lebanon, PA / Central Catholic) hit his team-leading eighth home run, a two-run drive in the seventh inning, driving in junior Jonathan Kelly (Pittsburgh, PA / Mt. Lebanon) who had singled to lead off the frame. This cut the deficit to 4-2. The Colonials responded in the bottom of the inning with three runs to stretch lead to 7-2. Gallina hit two home runs and drove in six RBI this weekend.
The Dukes return to action on Tuesday, April 22 when they host the Akron Zips (15-20, 7-4 MAC) at 2:00 p.m. at Duquesne Field in Green Tree. The Dukes topped Akron 11-10 on April 1st in a 12-inning contest at Akron's Canal Park.
Duquesne will then hit the road as they will meet Kent State on Wednesday afternoon in Kent, OH, before heading to Dayton for a three-game weekend series with the Flyers.
