Red and Blue Fall to GW in Ninth Inning, 4-3

The Dukes' post-season baseball hopes came to a halt Thursday as the Red and Blue lost at George Washington, 4-3. With two outs and a man on first in the bottom of the ninth inning, two Duquesne throwing errors on a pick-off attempt led to the winning run.
Sophomore Mike Carroll smashed his sixth home run of the season while junior Nolan Pena went 2-3. Senior pitcher Jeff Naughton tossed seven innings and allowed three runs while striking out three in his last appearance for DU.
Game two of the three-game series will be played Friday at 1:00 pm.
