Rick Devereaux Named Freshman All-American

Duquesne University freshman baseball player Rick Devereaux (Oakdale, Pa./West Allegheny) has been named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team as announced by Collegiate Baseball newspaper. He is the second Duquesne player all-time to be named to the team, following B.J. Barns in 1997.

A member of the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team, Devereaux batted .323 for the Dukes with four home runs, a team-high 15 doubles and 45 RBI. A starter in 51 contests at catcher, first base and designated hitter, he led the Red and Blue with 42 runs scored, was second with 63 hits and 25 walks and added two triples and six stolen bases.
