Keith Meyer Chosen in 15th Round by Seattle Mariners

Duquesne University junior right-handed pitcher Keith Meyer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Schenley) has been selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 15th round of Friday's 2007 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. He is the seventh Duquesne baseball player all-time to be drafted and is the first since Dan Schwartzbauer in 2004.
Meyer was the Dukes' closer in 2007, posting a 1-2 record with a team-high four saves. He made a school record 27 appearances and struck out 18 batters in 27 innings of work.
Meyer's 15th round selection is the second highest all-time at Duquesne, following B.J. Barns who went in the sixth round in 1999.
