In his time at Duquesne, the St. Marys, Pa. native has served as rehabilitation coordinator for the athletic training department and also as the head athletic trainer for a number of sports including football, wrestling, baseball, cross country, track & field and women’s soccer.
Bauer completed his bachelor’s degree in athletic training in at Mercyhurst College in 1992 and added a master’s in athletic training from California University of Pennsylvania in 1993. He is board certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and is a member of the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Society. He also holds American Red Cross, First Aid, CPR and AED certifications.
An avid runner and cyclist, Bauer has completed seven Ironman triathlons including a pair of Top 75 finishes at the Ironman Lake Placid (74th in 2007 and 65th in 2015). Bauer and his wife, Missy, reside in Ross Township.
