Anthony Serro comes to Duquesne as director of basketball operations after serving in the same capacity at Northeastern for two seasons. Serro originally joined Ron Everhart's staff at Northeastern as a team manager in 2002-03. He became a graduate assistant on Everhart's staff the following season.
The 25-year-old Baldwin, N.Y. native got his start as a manager through an internship program at his alma mater, Endicott College, where he completed his degree in physical education/sports management in 2003. Along with his diploma, Serro also received his coaching certification. He added a master's degree in college student development and counseling from Northeastern in May 2005.
In his sophomore year at Endicott, Serro interned in the athletics marketing department at St. John's University in Jamaica, N.Y., where he coordinated promotions at a number of Red Storm home men's basketball games at Madison Square Garden.
He also served an internship prior to that as an assistant to the basketball coaching staff at Queens College in Flushing, N.Y.
Serro is a graduate of Chaminade High School in Mineola, N.Y.
