Bryant McAllister scored 14 of his 17 points in the second half and Kieron Achara added a game-high 19 points to lead Duquesne to an 83-70 win over St. Bonaventure at the Palumbo Center. The win snapped a four-game Dukes losing streak and kept St. Bonaventure winless in Atlantic 10 Conference play.

Duquesne shot 51.7 percent in the second half in outscoring SBU 47-33. St. Bonaventure hit six of its first eight shots to jump out to an early 13-3 lead. Jack Higgins, who finished with 15 points, scored 11 of the Dukes' first 12 points including a 3-pointer to cut the lead to one at the 12:21 mark.

St. Bonaventure, which was led by Wade Dunston's 17 points, built its lead back to nine on an Isiah Carson jumper. Tyler Bluemling then hit back-to-back 3-pointers and Achara hit four-straight free throws to give DU its first lead of the game at 34-33 with just over two minutes left in the first half. The Bonnies then hit four free throws in the last 1:04 to take a 37-36 lead at the half.

Duquesne took the lead for good on the first of two Achara free throws at the 15:52 mark of the second half. The Dukes, bolstered by the inside play of Achara and McAllister's drives to the basket, steadily built a lead that reached 13 on a Chauncey Duke 3-pointer with 3:45 left. A pair of Duke free throws gave the Duquesne its largest lead of the game at 81-65 with 1:58 to go.

Achara hit 5-of-7 field goal attempts and McAllister was 8-of-9 from the foul line in the second half for Duquesne. Overall, the Dukes hit 15-of-20 free throws in the second half and 26-of-34 for the game. St. Bonaventure outscored DU 30-20 in the paint and 21-9 in second chance points, but Duquesne was able to turn 22 SBU turnovers into 29 points.
