OLEAN, NY - Duquesne rallied from a 15-point second-half deficit to tie it with just over a minute left, only to come up short in an 80-77 defeat at St. Bonaventure.

DU, which was down 74-61 with under five minutes remaining, had a chance to take the lead in the closing seconds, but a Mike Lewis II 3-point attempt was off the mark.

DU immediately fouled Matt Mobley, who made one of two free throws with five seconds on the clock. Lewis II drove the length of the court for a contested 3-point attempt at the final horn that was off the mark.

Lewis II scored 13 of his team-high 20 points from the foul line to lead the Dukes. Kale Abrahamson, who went 8-of-10 from the charity stripe, added a season-high 17 points off the bench for DU.

Mobley led St. Bonaventure, which posted its ninth-straight home win in the series, with 20 points.

There were a total of 56 fouls called in the game that saw three players foul out and six others finish with four.

Duquesne hit six of its first nine 3-point attempts in jumping out to a 28-16 lead. The Dukes, who went 8-of-14 from the arc in the first half, led 41-38 at intermission.

Mobley scored nine points in the first two-plus minutes of the second half to give St. Bonaventure a 47-43 lead.

SBU, who limited the Dukes to one field goal over the first 5:07 of the second half, built the lead to 52-45 on a Jaylen Adams basket with just under 16 minutes remaining.

The Bonnies made it an 11-point game on a David Andoh layup with 11:26 to go.

Duquesne, which hit four of its first 15 shots to open the half, trailed 67-52 with just over eight minutes remaining.

Adams made it 74-61 on a 3-pointer at the 5:03 mark, before the Dukes responded with a 13-0 run to tie it on a pair of Lewis II free throws with 1:09 left. Adams' three was the Bonnies' last field goal of the game.

St. Bonaventure went up four, at 79-75, on a pair of Mobley free throws with 23 seconds left.

Abrahamson answered with two free throws to make it a two point game. Adams then missed a pair setting up Lewis II's first late 3-point attempt that came with seven seconds left.

DU went 1-of-11 from the 3-point arc in the second half to finish 9-of-25. Duquesne limited SBU to 3-of-15 from beyond the arc.

St. Bonaventure shot 42.9 percent. Duquesne, which was 8-of-25 in the second half, finished at 37.7 percent.

Duquesne heads to Fairfax, Va. to complete the road portion of the regular-season schedule at George Mason on Wednesday, March 1 at 7:00 p.m. (A-10 Digital Network).

• Abrahamson, who scored a season-high 14 vs. Fordham on Wednesday, topped that with 17 ... the grad transfer went 3-of-6 from the field (3-of-5 from 3-point) and 8-of-10 from the foul line.

• It was the sixth time in DU's past eight games that Mike Lewis II scored 20 or more ... Lewis II, who went 8-of-10 from the foul line, has scored 20 or more a team-high eight times (six in Atlantic 10 play).

Nakye Sanders and Emile Blackman (13 points) both fouled out for DU ... Isiaha Mike (13 points) and Darius Lewis (3 blocks) both finished with four fouls.

• The win was SBU's ninth in a row over the Dukes at Reilly Center.

• There were two ties and four lead changes in the game ... Duquesne's largest lead was +12 (28-16) at the 10:28 mark of the first half ...
