Pittsburgh, Pa. - Jimmy Tricco scored 13 of his game-high 18 points in the first half to lead Duquesne to a 77-57 win over Prairie View in the Dukes season-opener.

Duquesne led 20-15 with just over nine minutes left in the first half before going on a 19-7 run to take a 39-22 lead at intermission. Six different players scored a field goal during the run that broke the game open. Prairie View briefly cut the DU lead to 14 early in the second half before the Dukes went on a 10-0 run to push the lead up over 20 points. Prairie View would get no closer than 17 the rest of the way.

Elijah Palmer (16 points), Ron Dokes (11 points) and Bryant McAllister joined Tricco in double figures for the Dukes. Roderick Riley led Prairie View with 16.

Duquesne shot 52.6 percent from the 3-point arc, with six different players hitting at least one 3-point field goal. The Dukes outshot the Panthers 47.1 percent to 31.1 percent and enjoyed a 40-34 edge on the boards.

Duquesne returns to action on Saturday Nov. 29th at 4 p.m. when the Siena Saints head to Palumbo for another non-conference matchup.
