• Duquesne (7-10, 0-3), in the midst of a five-game losing streak, returns home to face a No. 22/19 (AP/USA Today) VCU (15-3, 3-0) - a team tied for the nation's second-longest win streak at 12 - at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday at CONSOL Energy Center ... this is the first meeting between the Dukes and first-year Atlantic 10 member Rams.

• This is the second of three home games for the Dukes at CONSOL (DU defeated WVU, 60-56, on Dec. 11 and will host Xavier on Feb. 9 ... DU also faced Pitt in a neutral game at CONSOL on Dec. 5) ... DU is averaging 8,132 in five all-time home games at CONSOL.

• VCU is ranked by the AP for the first time since 1984-85 ... this is  DU's first game against a ranked opponent this season ... the Dukes, who are 46-114 all-time vs. ranked foes, have won their past two home games against ranked opponents (72-68 over #9 Xavier on Feb. 7, 2009 & 78-66 over #19 Temple on Jan. 15, 2011) ... both of those games were played at the Palumbo Center ... this is DU's first game vs. a ranked A-10 team at CONSOL.

• Duquesne, behind a career-high 29 points from Sean Johnson, cut a 17-point UMass lead to three on three occasions in the second half (last with 6:54 left) but could get no closer in a 79-66 loss at Amherst on Thursday ... VCU, down four with 15 seconds left, rallied to tie Saint Joseph's with eight seconds left and went on to defeat the Hawks 92-86 in overtime at Siegel Center also on Thursday night.

• Three of DU's top five scorers are freshmen: Derrick Colter (13.4 ppg.), Quevyn Winters (8.2) and Jeremiah Jones (6.9). Colter (Dec. 17 & 24) and Winters (Dec. 31) combined to earn A-10 Rookie of the Week honors for three-straight weeks in December. Colter, who has scored in double digits in his past nine games (16.6 ppg. over that span), is second on the team in scoring (13.4 ppg., 0.8 behind Sean Johnson) and leads in assists (86/5.1 apg.) ... only four players in school history have led the Dukes in scoring and assists - all were seniors: Aaron Jackson (19.3/5.7 in 2009), Bryant McAllister (19.7/4.8 in 2006), Courtney Wallace (16.6/3.4 in 2001) and Mike James (17.5/3.5 in 1998).

Weber had 10 steals, the second-highest total in A-10 history, against Florida Gulf Coast Nov. 9.

VCU is the only Atlantic 10 school without a road loss (4-0) ... the wins have come over Winthrop (90-54), Old Dominion (83-70), East Tennessee State (109-58) and St. Bonaventure (72-65) ... the four were a combined 20-47 through Thursday (Winthrop 7-9, ETSU 4-14, ODU 2-15 & SBU 7-9) ... Saint Joe's was the first team to score more than 70 points against VCU this season.

Duquesne is 46-114 all time against AP ranked teams. On Feb. 7, 2009, the Dukes ended a 24-game losing streak against ranked teams with a 72-68 home win over No. 9 (AP) Xavier. It was DU's first win over a ranked team since Jan. 25, 1997 (at No. 16 (AP) Xavier) and the first over a Top 10 team since Dec. 15, 1992 (91-84 at home over No. 10 (AP) Florida State). It was also the highest ranked team a Duquesne team defeated since an 88-87 overtime win over No. 9 (AP) Providence on Jan. 31, 1974 at Pittsburgh's Civic Arena. DU added another ranked win over No. 19 (AP) Temple on Jan. 15, 2011 (78-66 at the Palumbo Center) to give it wins in its last two home games against ranked opponents.

Notes from Duquesne's 79-66 loss at UMass on Thursday ... Duquesne is 6-3 when scoring 70 or more, 4-0 when scoring 80 or more, 5-1 when leading at the half and 5-0 when leading with 5:00 left ... in an oddity of sorts, the Dukes are 2-4 when holding opponents under 70 points and 2-2 when holding opponents under 40 percent from the floor.

Sean Johnson's 29 points at UMass were the most by a DU player since B.J. Monteiro scored 30 against Fordham last year ... it was the most points by a Duke in a road game since Aaron Jackson scored 46 at Virginia Tech in the 2009 NIT.
