Duquesne (10-13, 2-8) heads to Rhode Island (11-14, 2-8) on Sat., Feb. 15 for a game that will be televised by SNY and OSN (Eric Frede & Abu Bakr). The game, set for a Noon start, will also be streamed live by CoxSportsOnline and will air locally on radio on WPGB-FM 104.7. Four of DU's final six regular season games are on the road.

This is the 54th meeting in a series that dates to Jan. 13, 1966 ... Rhode Island, winner of 16 of the past 21, leads the all-time series 29-24 ... in games at Kingston, URI leads 17-10.
DU has won three of the past seven meetings at Ryan Center, including a 78-71 victory in its last visit on Jan. 14, 2012 ... Jerry Jones is the only current roster member who appeared in that game - unless you include junior forward Dominique McKoy, who made his first career start at forward for Rhode Island and went scoreless in 4 minutes.
The past seven meetings between the two (five URI wins) have been determined by eight or fewer points ... the average score of the past seven: Rhode Island 73.9, Duquesne 72.9 (517 points for URI & 510 for DU).
ON THE RAMS
Rhode Island is in its second season under head coach Danny Hurley ... Hurley and current DU head coach Jim Ferry met four times when Hurley was at Wagner (2010-11 & 2011-12) and Ferry was at LIU (2002-03 through 2011-12) ... Ferry's Blackbirds won all four meetings ... Rhody is 8-4 at home, inclduding a 2-2 mark in A-10 play ... the Rams are led by second-year JC transfer 6-2 Xavier Munford (16.4 ppg.) ... Munford played for Hurley at St. Benedict's Prep before enrolling at Iowa Western JC ... 6-5 freshman guard E.C. Matthews (12.8 ppg.) has earned A-10 Rookie of the Week honors four times.
Leftovers from DU's 75-58 loss to Richmond on Wednesday: Duquesne, which fell behind 17-3 in the opening 5:39, never led in dropping its fourth in a row ... DU, which trailed by 12 at the half, cut it to nine three times early in the second half, before a 14-0 Richmond run - fueled by nine consecutive Duquesne misses - put the game out of reach ... Ovie Soko led the Dukes with a game-high 21 points and 9 rebounds ... Micah Mason hit three second-half 3-pointers in adding 15 for the Dukes ... Dominique McKoy chipped in 9 before fouling out with 3:48 left ... Mason had a game-high 6 assists without a turnover ... the trio of Soko, Mason and McKoy went 17-of-30 from the field ... the rest of the team was a combined 5-of-27 ... Richmond, whose last field goal came at the 7:40 mark, scored its final 12 points on free throws ... URI went 23-of-26 from the foul line, while Duquesne was a season-worst 8-of-16.
Micah Mason leads the nation in 3-point shooting at .583 (49-84). He as hit at least three 3-pointers in seven of his past nine games.
Ovie Soko is the only A-10 player ranked in the Top 10 in scoring (18.4) and rebounding (7.8). He is the only non-guard among the conference's Top 12 scorers.
Over the past four games, opponents have made two more free throws (72-100) than DU has attempted (42-70, 17.5 FTA/g.). On Jan. 31 the Dukes were averaging 27.9 FTA/g. (now 26.1).
DU, which has fallen to fifth in the A-10 in scoring at 74.2 ppg., has averaged 61.5 ppg. in its past four outings.
Duquesne and Rhode Island, both 2-8 in A-10 play, are looking to end four-game losing streaks. Both have dropped eight of their past 10 games. URI is 8-4 at home (2-2 in A-10). Duquesne is 4-5 on the road (0-4 in A-10).
Senior F Ovie Soko enters Saturday's game with 987 career points (564 at UAB and 423 at DU). Soko, who is second in the A-10 with an 18.4 ppg. scoring average, ranks third nationally in free throw attempts with 234. His 10.2 FTAs/g. are on school record pace.
Sophomore guard Micah Mason leads the nation in 3-point shooting percentage (.583). He has the highest offensive efficiency rating in the nation according to KenPom.com.
DU leads the Atlantic 10 with a +1.3 assist-to-turnover ratio.
This is a homecoming for DU junior forward Dominique McKoy who played in 30 games for Rhode Island as a freshman in 2011-12 prior to enrolling a Cowley CC.
