• Duquesne (15-11, 6-6), coming off a 78-59 loss at Atlantic 10-leading Temple, returns home to host Dayton (16-10, 6-6) on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 7:00 in game that will be televised regionally by CBS Sports Network. DU, which is 9-1 after a loss this season, is looking for a sweep of the Flyers who the Dukes defeated 83-73 at UD on Feb. 1.

• Dayton is one of three A-10 opponents the Dukes will face home-and-home this season, the others are St. Bonaventure (home W, road L) and Saint Louis (road L, home on 3/2).

• Dayton and Massachusetts have played the fewest road games among the A-10's 14 schools ... the Flyers are 2-6 on the road with wins at Temple and at Fordham (OT) ... DU, which has won three of the last four against Dayton in Pittsburgh, is 10-3 at home (4-2 in the A-10 home games).

• Duquesne, which lost 16 in a row to Dayton from 1997 through 2004, is 7-6 against the Flyers in the past 13 games ... the two have split home wins in each of the past two seasons.

• Nine of DU's first 12 conference games have been against RPI Top 100 schools (Rhode Island, Richmond & Fordham are the exceptions) ... Dayton (68 RPI) is the tenth.

• According to Basketball State, Duquesne has faced the fifth-toughest schedule among the Atlantic 10's 14 schools (through Sunday): Saint Joseph's (39th), Dayton (48th), Temple (56th), Xavier (57th), DUQUESNE (60th), George Washington (64th), Saint Louis (67th), Richmond (94th), Rhode Island (95th), St. Bonaventure (96th), La Salle (121st), Charlotte (123rd), UMass (141st) and Fordham (154th).

• This is the fourth consecutive season the Dukes have posted 15 or more wins ... it is the longest streak since 1968-73 (15+ wins in six straight seasons).

• The Dukes, who led the nation is assists (17.8), steals (9.9) and turnover margin (+6.7) last year are averaging 15.5 assists and 8.0 steals ... DU began the week ranked third in NCAA Division I in turnover margin (+5.3) behind Syracuse (+6.6) and VCU (+5.8).

• Senior guard Eric Evans enters the Dayton game needing three assists to become the 10th 1,000-point/300 assist man in school history (1,004/297) ... Evans reached the 1,000-point mark with a layup at the 18:13 mark of the second half against Fordham on Feb. 15.

• Duquesne is 10-3 at home (includes a win over Penn State at CONSOL Energy Center) ... the Dukes are 56-27 at the Palumbo Center under Ron Everhart, including a 51-18 mark over the past five seasons ... over the past five seasons, the Dukes are 24-12 in conference home games at Palumbo.

• This is the fifth consecutive season the Dukes have posted double-digit home wins (currently 10-3) ... the last time DU strung together five or more consecutive seasons with 10 or more home wins was from 1967-68 through 1973-74 (seven times) ... Duquesne posted double-digit home wins twice in the 25 seasons prior to head coach Ron Everhart's arrival in 2006-07.

• The Dukes hit the road for back-to-back games at George Washington (Feb. 25) and at Charlotte (Feb. 29) before concluding the regular season at home against Saint Louis on March 3. B.J. Monteiro, Eric Evans and student manager Brian Collins will be recognized before the SLU game as part of Senior Day ceremonies.

THE SERIES: Dayton leads the overall series 44-22, including a 22-8 lead in Atlantic 10 regular season games and a 16-13 edge in games played at Pittsburgh ... Freshman Mamadou Datt had his best game as a Duke with eight points and nine rebounds in 29 minutes in his first career start to help DU to a 75-64 win at George Mason on Dec. 21 ... went 4-of-8 with three dunks vs. the Patriots ... had not scored more than two points in his 11 previous games ... added 8 points and 7 rebounds in 11 minutes at Saint Louis on Jan. 21 and followed that with 7 points and 5 boards in 15 minutes vs. La Salle ... grabbed 10 rebounds in DU's first two games (five each vs. Arizona and Green Bay) ... attempted just 12 field goals in 11 games prior to his breakout at George Mason ... had five rebounds in 18 minutes at Temple to match his reobound total in DU's four previous games.

35 • Derrick Martin
Redshirt freshman Derrick Martin has seen action in nine of DU's past 14 games (39 total minutes) ... had 4 points, 3, rebounds and 2 blocks in 9 minutes vs. Houston Baptist ... had two rebounds in five first-half minutes vs. UMass ... posted 2 boards and 2 blocks in a season-high 12 minutes at Saint Louis.

FAMILIAR NAME, NEW FACE: Rich Piekarski, a back-up safety for the DU football team, began practicing with the basketball team on Nov. 21 - two days after the season finale against Robert Morris. The 6-2 guard, who was an outstanding quarterback/point guard at Hudson High School in Hudson, Ohio, played in all 11 games for DU's 9-2 NEC co-Championship team (7-1 in league play) at safety. Piekarski, who served as the holder for placekicks, was part of a secondary that led the nation's Football Championship Subdivision in pass defense. He had 10 tackles, one interception and recovered a pair of fumbles as a member of DU's nickel and dime defensive packages. Piekarski's uncle, Bill, played basketball for the Dukes from 1974-77. Another uncle, Dave, played for Duquesne's freshman team. A third uncle, Gene, also graduated from DU. Piekarski, who redshirted with the football team in 2010, hasn't played basketball since averaging 17.0 points and 9.0 rebounds for Hudson in 2009-10. Piekarski, a third team all-state and first team all-district quarterback, was also an honorable mention Division I All-Ohio basketball player. Piekarski's first game in uniform was on Nov. 26 vs. Louisiana-Lafayette. He saw his first action on Dec. 31 against Houston Baptist and showed his passing skills with two assists in the final minute of a 118-72 win. Piekarski had a pair of tackles in DU's 22-13 football win at Dayton on Sept. 10.
