Feb. 21, 2010

PITTSBURGH - Duquesne's Bill Clark (Redondo Beach, Calif./Worcester (Mass.) Academy) has been named Atlantic 10 co-Player of the Week for his performance in Duquesne wins over La Salle and at Charlotte last week.

The 6-5 guard/forward averaged 26.0 points and 4.0 assists and shot 69.2 percent from the field (8-of-15 from the 3-point arc) in the two wins. He hit 11-of-14 shots in scoring a career-high 34 points in the 103-82 win over La Salle. Clark topped the 1,000 career point mark with a 3-pointer early in the second half against the Explorers. He followed that with 18 points and three assists in 27 minutes in DU's victory at Charlotte.

Clark, who ranks fourth on Duquesne's career list with 144 3-pointers, had four 3-pointers in each game.

It is the first career Player of the Week honor for the junior, who was named league co-Rookie of the Week back in March of 2008. He shares this week's award with Richmond's Kevin Anderson.

Clark, who was 6-of-35 from the 3-point arc in his first nine conference games, is 8-of-15 from 3-point in his past two.

Duquesne (14-12, 5-7) hosts Dayton (18-7, 7-4) this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN2.
