PITTSBURGH - Duquesne University head men's basketball coach Jim Ferry announced today that guard Tra'Vaughn White (Kansas City, Kan./Washington (Independence CC) has requested and been granted a release from his scholarship, clearing his way to transfer.

"Tra'Vaughn is a great kid and a great teammate who will always be part of our Duquesne family," said Ferry. "He made the decision to pursue other opportunities and we, as a staff, are committed to supporting him in his transition. We wish him nothing but the best."

White, a first-year transfer from Independence Community College, started eight of DU's first nine games before coming off the bench in his last 21. He averaged 7.4 points in 16.6 minutes per game.
