PITTSBURGH - Duquesne University head men's basketball coach Jim Ferry has announced the signing of junior college All-American guard Jordan Stevens (Columbia, Mo./Rock Bridge/Southeastern CC) to a National Letter of Intent.

The 6-1 Columbia, Mo. native will have two seasons of eligibility remaining, beginning in 2014-15.

"We're excited to add a player with Jordan's experience and maturity to our program," said Ferry. "He was a big-time scorer at the junior college level, who is also someone who can play the point. I know I keep using the term versatility when describing our recruits, but his ability to play both positions will really help us fill a void we felt we had this past season. He's a great kid who is a great fit for Duquesne."

Stevens averaged 19.2 ppg. - including 24.1 ppg. in conference play - for 25-7 Southeastern Community College in 2013-14. He scored 20 or more 12 times and topped the 30-point mark on five occasions on his way to being one of 10 players named Division I First Team NJCAA All-American. All five of his 30-point games came in his final 11 outings, including a season-high 38 points in a season-ending 93-89 loss at Indian Hills, which was the top-ranked JC program in the nation at the time.

The top scorer in NJCAA Region XI in each of his two seasons at SCC, Stevens was an honorable mention All-American after averaging a team-high 19.0 ppg. (21.0 ppg. in conference play) for the 23-10 Blackhawks as a freshman.

Stevens helped SCC to the region final in both of his seasons at the West Burlington, Iowa school.
