Legends Classic Field Announced

PITTSBURGH- Duquesne will open at Georgetown and host James Madison, North Dakota State and Youngstown State in a round robin subregional as part of the 2012 Legends Classic it was announced today.
DU will face the Hoyas in the opening round on Sunday, Nov. 11 in a nationally televised ESPNU game at the Verizon Center (game time TBA).
It will be the first meeting between the two since No. 6 (AP) Georgetown defeated Duquesne 88-86 at Lakeland, Fla. on Dec. 28, 1995. It will also be DU's first appearance at Georgetown since a 68-56 win on Dec. 11, 1962. Georgetown, which finished 24-9 in 2012 with a roster that featured 10 freshmen and sophomores, led the nation in 3-point field goal defense (.279) and was 13th in field goal percentage defense (.387) and 16th in scoring defense (59.4 ppg.). The Hoyas went 15-1 at home. Duquesne leads the series 10-3 with 12 of the 13 meetings coming between 1931 and 1962.
The Dukes will then return home to host subregional doubleheaders on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday leading up to Thanksgiving. The subregional will open on Nov. 19 with Youngstown State vs. North Dakota State followed by Duquesne vs. James Madison. On Tuesday, it will be James Madison vs. Youngstown State and Duquesne vs. North Dakota State. The subregional will conclude with North Dakota State taking on James Madison followed by DU and YSU on Wednesday, Nov. 21. Game times for each day will be 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
In addition, Duquesne announced tip times for its non-conference home games. The Dec. 1 game vs. Maine will begin at 2:00 p.m. and the Dec. 8 New Orleans, Dec. 11 West Virginia (at CONSOL Energy Center) and Dec. 19 Western Michigan games will all start at 7:00 p.m.
Exhibition games will be announced in the upcoming weeks. The Atlantic 10 schedule will be released in late August/early September.
