PITTSBURGH - CONSOL Energy Center home games against Xavier and first-year Atlantic 10 member VCU highlight the Atlantic 10 portion of the Duquesne men's basketball 2012-13 schedule released today.

In addition to the Musketeers and Rams, Duquesne will host Saint Joseph's, Saint Louis, George Washington, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure and Charlotte at the Palumbo Center as each of the league's 16 teams will face every A-10 opponent once and one team twice for a total of 16 conference matchups. Duquesne's home-and-home opponent for 2012-13 is St. Bonaventure.

The Dukes will appear on television four times - three times on the road - as part of the conference's package. The Jan. 17 game at Massachusetts will air nationally (CBS Sports Network), while Jan. 26 at Dayton, Feb. 2 at St. Bonaventure and the Xavier game will be CBS Sports Network regionally syndicated telecasts.

The Dukes will open conference play on the road for just the second time in the past six seasons at Fordham on Wednesday, Jan. 9, before returning to Pittsburgh for the A-10 home opener against Saint Joseph's on Jan. 12.

DU will have a two-day turnaround following the Jan. 17 nationally televised game at UMass when VCU makes its first visit as a member of the Atlantic 10 on Jan. 19.

Saint Louis, who has been mentioned in a number of preseason Top 25 polls, visits on Jan. 23. The Dukes then hit the road for back-to-back TV games at Dayton (Jan. 26) and at St. Bonaventure (Feb. 2) before returning home to face George Washington (Feb. 6) and Xavier (Feb. 9).

DU travels to Philadelphia to face Temple in the Owls' final season as an Atlantic 10 member on Feb. 14 and, in another two-day turnaround, hosts Rhode Island on Feb. 16.

Duquesne renews its series with first-year A-10 member Butler on Feb. 19 in Indianapolis, Ind. The Dukes and Bulldogs shared membership in the Midwestern Collegiate Conference in 1993.

The return matchup with St. Bonaventure follows on Feb. 23 at Palumbo Center.

March sees the Dukes travel to La Salle (Mar. 2), host Charlotte (Mar. 6) and complete the regular season portion of the schedule at Richmond (Mar. 9).

The 2013 Atlantic 10 Championship will be played at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. on March 14-17 with the top 12 regular-season finishers qualifying. Winners of four opening round games will advance to the quarterfinal round on Friday, Mar. 15. Those games will be syndicated and air in local and regional markets of selected A-10 members. Semifinal games will be played on CBS Sports Network on Saturday, Mar. 16. The final game will be televised nationally by CBS on Selection Sunday, Mar. 17, at 1:00 p.m.

First-year head coach Jim Ferry returns two starters from last year's 16-15 team.

Season and group tickets are now on sale by calling 412-232-DUKE or by visiting www.GoDuquesne.com. Individual tickets will go on sale at a later date.

• The Dukes are scheduled to appear on TV a minimum of five times (four in conference play). One of the games will emanate from CONSOL Energy Center (Feb. 9 vs. Xavier CBS Sports Network Regional Syndication). The Nov. 11 game at Georgetown (ESPNU) and the Jan. 17 game at UMass (CBS Sports Network) will air nationally. Back-to-back road games at Dayton (Jan. 26) and at St. Bonaventure (Feb. 2) will air regionally. Additional TV clearances may be added.

• Despite the addition of Butler and VCU, the Atlantic 10 will still maintain 16-game schedule. Instead of facing three teams twice, each conference member will face one team in a home-and-home series. Duquesne's home-and-home opponent in 2012-13 is St. Bonaventure.

• The top 12 regular-season finishers (of 16 teams) will qualify for the Atlantic 10 Championship at Brooklyn's Barclays Center March 14-17.
