2017-18 Duquesne Men's Basketball Schedule

PITTSBURGH -- First-year head coach Keith Dambrot and the 2017-18 Dukes will open the Atlantic 10 season at home vs. Dayton on Saturday, Dec. 30 as part of the conference schedule released today. The Dec. 30 start marks just the second time since 1993-94 - and second time in as many years - that the Dukes will open A-10 play prior to the new year.

The 18-game conference schedule has the Dukes appearing in five televised games, including one on CBSSN (Jan. 6 at Fordham) and four on NBCSN (Jan. 13 vs. La Salle, Jan. 20 vs. George Mason, Jan. 27 at Rhode Island and Feb. 3 vs. St. Bonaventure).

DU's remaining A-10 home games will be against George Washington (Jan. 3), Richmond (Jan. 24), Fordham (Feb. 10), Davidson (Feb. 24) and Saint Louis (Feb. 28).

In addition to the televised games at Fordham and Rhode Island, the Dukes will also travel to VCU (Jan. 9), Saint Louis (Jan. 17), George Washington (Jan. 31), Dayton (Feb. 7), Saint Joseph's (Feb. 17), St. Bonaventure (Feb. 21) and Massachusetts (Mar. 3).

Two of Duquesne's nonconference games in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic will also be televised (Dec. 22 vs. San Francisco will be on FS2 and Dec. 23 vs. Southern Illinois on FS1). The USF and Southern Illinois games will be played at Las Vegas' Orleans Arena.

This marks the fifth year of the long-term television agreement between the A-10 and ESPN, CBS Sports Network and NBCSN. Atlantic 10 institutions reside in states that comprise 33.3 million television households, approximately 30 percent of the total national media market. There are nine A-10 institutions in or adjacent to the top 25 media markets in the country.

The 14 member Atlantic 10 schools will face each other once and five schools twice in the fourth-straight year of an 18-game regular-season league schedule.

DU's five home-and-home opponents include 2017 NCAA tournament participant Dayton, CBI participant George Washington, Fordham, Saint Louis and long-time rival St. Bonaventure.

The 2018 Atlantic 10 Championship will held at Washington D.C.'s Capital One Arena on March 7-11. There will be a pair of first round games Wednesday, March 7 followed by second round games on Thursday, March 8. The winners of those four games will advance to the quarterfinal round on Friday, March 9. The second round and quarterfinal games will be televised by NBCSN. Semifinal games will air on CBSSN on Saturday, March 10 and the championship game will be carried by CBS on NCAA Selection Sunday, March 11. The top four regular-season finishers will receive first round byes.

The Dukes open the 2017-18 season at home against St. Francis Brooklyn on Nov. 11.

Season and group tickets are now on sale by calling 412-232-DUKE or by visiting GoDuquesne.com/tickets. Individual tickets will go on sale at a later date.

• This is Duquesne's 41st year as a member of the Atlantic 10.

• The 14-team Atlantic 10 will maintain an 18-game schedule. Each conference member will face five teams in a home-and-home series. Duquesne's home-and-home opponents in 2017-18 are: Dayton, Fordham, George Washington, St. Bonaventure and Saint Louis. All 14 teams will qualify for the Atlantic 10 Championship at Washington D.C.'s Capital One Arena March 7-11 with the top four regular season finishers receiving byes to the quarterfinal round.
