Williams Jr. Named A-10 Rookie of Week for Second Time

PITTSBURGH - Eric Williams Jr. earned Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors for the second time in helping the Dukes to three wins last week.
The 6-5 swingman, who earned his first ROW honor on Nov. 13, averaged 19.0 points, 12.0 rebounds 2.7 assists and 2.0 steals in DU wins over Maryland Eastern Shore, Stetson and Delaware State. Williams Jr. began the week with 24 points and 11 rebounds vs. MDES and followed that with 11 points and a Duquesne freshman-record 16 rebounds vs. Stetson. The Michigan native capped the week by hitting five 3-pointers in a 22-point, nine-rebound outing vs. Delaware State.
Williams Jr. shot .529 from the field, including 11-of-17 from 3-point (.647) for the week.
The week puts Williams Jr.'s season numbers at 16.1 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.
Duquesne (5-3), winner of three straight, will be in action on Wednesday, Dec. 13 when it takes on Mississippi Valley State at 7:00 p.m. at the Palumbo Center.
