Duquesne (6-5), which saw its modest two-game win streak snapped in a 91-69 loss at Robert Morris on Saturday, hosts Western Michigan (7-3) on Wednesday at 7:02 p.m. in a game that will be televised nationally by NBC Sports Network. The Dukes, who trailed 31-30 at the half, were outscored 60-39 in the second 20 minutes at Robert Morris. DU, which outrebounded RMU 42-27, couldn't overcome a season-high 25 turnovers which led to 31 Colonials points.
This is the second meeting between Duquesne and Western Michigan of the Mid-American Conference (West). Last year, forward Nate Hutcheson (24 points) and guard Brandon Pokley (16 points) both posted career highs in an 85-71 Broncos win at Kalamazoo. Sean Johnson scored 15 for DU. WMU hit 10 3-pointers and outrebounded the Dukes 37-23 in the win.
The Dukes, who ranked 337th of 338th schools in rebounding margin last season (-7.5 rpg.), are outrebounding opponents by +6.1 margin - a net improvement of 13.6 rebounds per game. DU has outrebounded two opponents by 20 or more (+24 vs. Youngstown State and +26 vs. New Orleans). WMU is outrebounding its opponents by +8.3 per game. Duquesne has outrebounded eight of 11 opponents, while WMU has outboarded seven of 10.
The Last Meeting

First-year Duquesne head coach Jim Ferry's Dukes are receiving contributions from up and down the roster ... 10 players have seen action in all 11 games ... nine have scored in double digits, six have led the team in scoring and seven have either led - or tied for the team lead - in single-game rebounding.
Duquesne, which is 5-1 at home, 1-3 on the road and 0-1 at neutral sites, has been in Pittsburgh since Nov. 29. DU will leave for its Dec. 22 game at Louisiana-Lafayette early Thursday morning.
The Dukes have been in Final Exams for the past week (Dec. 12-18).
Sean Johnson, who will be playing in his 105th game, became the 37th 1,000-point scorer in school history with a game-high 21 vs. New Orleans on Saturday. Johnson enters the WMU game with 1,034 points, which ranks tied for No. 34 on the all-time list (he needs 16 to pass Ron Guziak and move into the No. 33 spot).
Ten players have seen action in each of the Dukes' first 11 games.
Duquesne has outscored opponents 303-209 in bench points (27.5-to-19.0 per game). That's an average of +8.5 ppg.
