Third-year linebackers and special teams coach Michael Craig brings 10 years of Northeast Conference playing and coaching experience to the Duquesne staff.

A four-year starter under current DU defensive coordinator Dave Opfar at Saint Francis, Pa., Craig coached linebackers at SFU for four seasons.

He also served as special teams and strength and conditioning coach for the Red Flash.

Craig's 2011 Duquesne linebacking corps produced the three top tacklers for a defensive unit that ranked fourth nationally in total defense (281.6 ypg.) and eighth in scoring defense (18.3 ppg.).

Two of his pupils at Saint Francis, Scott Lewis and Matthew Parker, finished the 2010 season ranked first and fourth nationally in career tackles per game.

A native of nearby Imperial, Pa., Craig attended West Allegheny High School before going on to start for four years at linebacker for Saint Francis. He was a Red Flash team captain in 2003, 2004 & 2005.

Craig earned his bachelor's degree in accounting in 2006 and is currently working toward his master's degree. He resides in Imperial, Pa.
