As a freshman (2001): Bounced back from some mid-season adversity to put together the top passing season ever by a DU freshman ... became the first position player (former PK Earl Bellisario is the only other) to earn first team All-MAAC honors as a freshman ... completed 121-of-244 passes for 2,112 yards and 22 TDs ... made good on eight of his first nine career passes (126 yards and one TD) in leading the Dukes' to an early 14-3 lead in the first start of his career vs. VMI ... for the game Loebig, who was filling the shoes of record setting three-year starter Tony Zimmerman, went 22-of-31 for 303 yards and two TDs ... went 5-of-14 for 114 yards and two touchdowns (53, 19) to lead the Dukes to a 28-10 win over Saint Peter's and earn his first of four MAAC Rookie of the Week honors ... connected on 20-of-41 pass attempts for 279 yards and 4 TDs (12, 12, 67, 19) at Butler in winning MAAC Rookie of the Week honors for the second time ... still managed to put up some good numbers despite a rough outing vs. Dayton ... completed 18-of-35 passes for 337 yards and two scores (58, 34) vs. the Flyers, but was picked off five times, with three of the errant tosses returned for scores ... followed that with five more INTs at Georgetown (6-of-22, 124 yards), before bouncing back to complete 10-of-24 passes for 192 yards and two TDs vs. La Salle ... was an economical 10-of-14 for 121 yards and two TDs vs. Siena and turned in another solid performance at Fairfield where he completed 6-of-15 passes for 186 yards and three TDs (23, 29, 85) ... then went 14-of-32 for 237 yards and two scores (6, 59) at Marist, which was good enough to earn Rookie of the Week honors for the third time ... took home Rookie of the Week honors for the fourth time following a 10-of-16, 219 yard, two TD performance vs. Canisius ... completed 50-of-101 passes for 955 yards and 11 touchdowns while being intercepted just four times during DU's late season five-game win streak ... finished the year ranked 27th nationally with a pass efficiency rating of 136.48 ... threw for at least two touchdowns in nine of his 10 regular-season starts ... personal: earned a spot on the DU Director of Athletics Honor Roll
