#4 Duquesne Holds Georgetown To One Touchdown, 45-7

PITTSBURGH (AP) - James Jacobs ran for 186 yards, including a 65-yard touchdown, and Niel Loebig threw for three other scores as Duquesne beat Georgetown 45-7 on Saturday.

Duquesne (2-1) entered the game ranked No. 4 in the NCAA Division I Mid-Major poll and lived up to the ranking by outgaining Georgetown 410 yards to 138, with a 12-minute-plus advantage in time of possession.

Loebig opened the scoring with a 4-yard pass to Bruce Hocker and added a 12-yard score to Chris Campbell for a 14-0 first quarter lead.

Georgetown (1-2) scored its only touchdown, a 7-yard run by Kim Sarin, early in the second quarter. But the Hoyas then surrendered a 31-yard John Harris filed goal and Loebig's third scoring pass of 21 yards to Michel Warfield as Duquesne led 24-7 at the half.

Duquesne iced the game with three fourth quarter scores, including Jacobs' long touchdown. Myke McAfoose added a 1-yard run and Michael Ford scored on a 46-yard interception return to round out the scoring.

Loebig finished the day 17-of-24 for 206 yards an one interception. Jacobs averaged 7.4 yards on his 25 carries.

Sarin rushed for 102 yards on 19 carries to lead Georgetown, which was held to just 24 yards passing. Keith Allan was just 1-for-10 passing for 22 yards, but threw three interceptions. Backup Nick Cangelosi wasn't much better, completing 1 out of 5 throws for just 2 yards.
