Notes
Duquesne Head Coach Greg Gattuso:
"This is a great win. Dayton has been
the best program since I-AA mid-major has been around. When the pressure
got to be the greatest, the defense didn't fold. When you have an offense
like Dayton, you can't let them run the option. If it wasn't for the
turnovers, we would have been in control. I thought we played a great
first half on both sides of the ball, and a good second half defensively.
I think sometimes we're a little too high octane on offense and we make
mistakes."
On the play of WR Jeremy Conley (above right):
"He's the best I've seen,
period. Going into the game, I thought the teams were evenly matched. The
one area I thought we had an advantage was our receivers against their
defensive backs."
Duquesne WR Jeremy Conley who caught 9 passes for a school-record 245 yards
including the game-winning touchdown with :09 left:
"It came down to a big
play at the end. It was a normal fade to the corner, everything just went
right. I was the only receiver. It was just me against the corner and
whoever got to the ball first.
"This was a big win for us. It was a great team effort."
