Duquesne Head Coach Greg Gattuso:
"He [Niel Loebig] played smart. He even
yelled at me and told me to quit bothering him when he was under center. I
have to give the entire team credit. They never quit."
On DU's school-record 54 pass attempts:
"Fifty-four times! I was shocked when I
saw it. But I would not be a good coach if I didn't throw to these
receivers. It was a match-up that favored us. I do think we ran the ball
effectively. You have to make the other team respect the run. Run the
ball a lot, and running effectively are two different things."
On receiver Jeremy Conley (above right) who caught a school record 13 passes:
"He's a great one. I
have not seen anybody like him. He out-jumps people, he out-physicals
people and his competitive spirit is unmatched."
Duquesne QB Niel Loebig who set new school records for completions (29) and
attempts (54):
"It is definitely nice to have a couple of records, but the
best record we have right now is 5-0. Coming back to win was definitely
big for this team. Now we know we can come back and win a big game. In
the last two weeks, we've had two of the biggest wins of anyone's career here.
"It didn't feel like I threw 50 passes. I think our coaches made some
great adjustments at halftime. All of our receivers made big plays. Even
Michel Warfield, our number five receiver, made a couple of big catches on
the final drive."
