Morehead, Kentucky - David Caudill spoiled a late Duquesne comeback by connecting with Eli Parkes for a 36-yard touchdown pass with 39 seconds left to lead Morehead State to a 15-10 win over the Dukes.

Duquesne, which took its first lead of the game on a 9-yard Niel Loebig to Loran Cooley touchdown pass with 1:25 left, was unable to hold on as Caudill, who finished the game 19-of-25 for 297 yards, drove the Eagles 61 yards on five plays for the game-winner. The key play of the winning drive came on 3rd-and-12 from the MSU 37 when Caudill found Ralph Delsardo for 18 yards and a first down at the DU 45. Two plays later, Caudill rolled to his right and - with his legs in the grasp of DU's Michael Hill - found Parkes at the 8-yard line. Parkes took a hard hit from Tim Pichette but was able to pinball into the end zone for the winning score.

Morehead State got the better of a first-half field goal battle, taking a 9-3 lead at the half. In the second quarter, Caudill found Delsardo all alone over the middle for a 74-yard catch-and-run that took the ball to the Duquesne 6. The Dukes then forced the Eagles to settle for a 26-yard Adam Jones field goal to make the score 9-3 with just under three minutes left before the halftime break.

Duquesne answered at the end of the third stanza by driving 84 yards behind the running of Mike Hilliard to the Morehead State one-yard line, but was thwarted on four consecutive tries to turn the ball back over with 8:20 left in the game.

Still down 9-3 with just 4:23 left in the game, Duquesne's Niel Loebig completed 4-of-5 passes for 64 yards to lead the Dukes on a 9-play 78-yard drive capped by the scoring pass to Cooley.

MSU's Jabari McGee then returned the ensuing kickoff 30 yards to the Morehead 37 to set up the game-deciding drive.

Hilliard, who carried 21 times for 103 yards in the second half alone, led all rushers with 177 yards on 40 carries. Delsardo paced the receivers with 154 yards on 6 catches. Loebig finished 14-of-27 for 177 yards for the Dukes. Michael Ford, Tim Pichette and Ryan Tolan led Duquesne with nine tackles each. MSU's Jermaine Wells took game honors with 14 stops.

Duquesne finished the game with 25 first downs to 13 for Morehead State. MSU outgained the Dukes 392 to 341.

The Dukes will head to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. next Saturday, Nov. 8 for their final Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Football League regular season contest at 1:00 p.m against Marist.
