Duquesne Head Coach Greg Gattuso:
"I told our kids we had no excuses. We had had problems in this game [in the past]. It was important for us to get a win.
"Monmouth is a very good team with a lot of senior leadership. We kept hanging with them until we got the big play.
"I think Niel [Loebig] was a little juiced up early. He was missing receivers high. I think he eventually settled in."
Duquesne quarterback Niel Loebig the game's MVP:
On the touchdown pass to Warfield:
"They were in an outside blitz, so I knew I was going to Mike [Warfield] all the way. He made a great catch and run. You can't concentrate on one receiver in our offense. If you concentrate on Yardon Brantley, then Warfield is open. You can't take away everything."
"To win the ECAC bowl against a tough Monmouth team means a lot."
