Complete STATS FCS 2017 Preseason All-America Team

PITTSBURGH - Senior offensive lineman Ben Huss (Upper St. Clair, Pa./Upper St. Clair) was named to the STATS FCS Preseason All-America Team released today.

The Upper St. Clair native, who is one of 37 players on the preseason team who earned STATS All-America honors after the 2016 season, was named to the 2017 preseason second team. Huss and Saint Francis U receiver Kamron Lewis were the only two Northeast Conference players named to the three-team, 97-player preseason squad.

Huss, who earned STATS FCS All-America honors last year (third team), will be attempting to become just the second two-time STATS FCS All-American in school history in 2017. Former teammate, linebacker Christian Kuntz (2013, 2015 & 2016), is the only Duke to earn the award more than once. Last year (Kuntz & Huss) marked the first time in school history that Duquesne had multiple STATS FCS All-Americans in the same season.

Huss, who was named to the preseason All-NEC team two weeks ago, has earned All-NEC honors in each of his first three seasons (second team in 2014 and first team in 2015 & 2016). A three-year starter, Huss anchored an offensive line that helped the Dukes average 429 yards per game in 2016 (168.5 per game on the ground and 260.5 in the air). The 6-2, 307-pound guard has helped clear the way for 13 100-yard rushing games by four different backs over the past two seasons.
