Duquesne University freshman placekicker Mark Troyan (Ford City, Pa./Ford City) was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Football League Rookie of the Week for his performance in Duquesne's 23-13 loss at Columbia on Saturday.

Troyan connected on field goals of 20 and 40 yards and also converted his lone extra point attempt against the Lions. The true freshman, who leads the Dukes in scoring with 26 points, has made all six of his field goal attempts this season and is 8-of-9 on extra points. He currently ranks 12th nationally in NCAA Division I-AA with a 1.5 field goals made per game average.

Duquesne has swept all four MAAC Rookie of the Week honors handed out this season, with DU redshirt freshman quarterback Scott Knapp winning the award on Sept. 5th, 12th and 19th and Troyan taking rookie honors this week.
