DUQUESNE CONCLUDES 2010 SEASON AT BRYANT: Duquesne (6-4, 4-3), coming off a 41-17 Senior Day win over Saint Francis, heads to Smithfield, R.I. to close out the 2010 season at red hot Bryant (7-3, 4-3) on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 12:00 p.m. Bryant, which is coming off a 27-21 win over NEC leader No. 25 (Sports Network) Robert Morris last weekend, has won three in a row. The Bulldogs, who are 6-0 at home, are 8-0 all-time against the NEC's three Pennsylvania schools (Duquesne, Robert Morris and Saint Francis). Duquesne, which clinched a winning season with the victory over Saint Francis, is 1-3 on the road. Bryant is 22-5 at Bulldog Stadium since the 2006 season. The Bulldogs have not lost more than two games at home since 2004 and are 7-2 against NEC opponents in Smithfield since beginning the transition to Division I membership.
DUKES AND BULLDOGS: This is the third meeting between Duquesne and Bryant ... two years ago, in the first meeting between the two, Bryant scored nine points in a 16 second span of the fourth quarter to break open a close game in handing Duquesne a 24-10 defeat in a non-conference game at Smithfield, R.I. ... last year, Bryant limited Duquesne to 133 yards in the second half in posting a 20-0 season-ending win over the Dukes at Rooney Field ... Bryant outgained Duquesne 341-257 in shutting out the Dukes for the first time since a 24-0 loss at Albany in the 2002 ECAC Classic.
ON THE DUKES: Duquesne amassed 326 of total offense in its loss at now-No. 1 Delaware (9-1) on Sept. 18 ... DU is one of just three teams (William & Mary - the team that handed UD it lone defeat - and UMass are the others) to gain over 300 yards vs. the Blue Hens who rank third nationally in total defense ... DU also rolled up 461 yards in total offense, including 135 on the ground, in its win over now-No. 24 Dayton ... Dayton (10-1) currently ranks 3rd nationally in rushing defense ... sophomore running back Larry McCoy, who ranks 14th nationally in rushing (113.1 ypg.), has been the model of consistency with 81, 84, 88, 123, 74, 246, 122, 131, 81 & 101 yards rushing in DU's 10 games ... McCoy has topped 100 yards in five of seven NEC games ... McCoy enters the Bryant game with 1,131 yards ... his yardage total ranks 10th on DU's all-time, single-season list ... a pair of Michigan State transfers lead the Dukes in receptions ... senior Dave Williams has 51 catches for 676 yards and nine TDs ... Connor Dixon, a converted QB who attended MSU with Williams, has 41 catches for 560 yards and five scores ... Duquesne ranks 12th nationally in pass defense (156.2 ypg.), 22nd in pass efficiency defense (111.6) and 43rd in total defense (333.5 ypg.).
NOTING BRYANT: Bryant is 8-0 against NEC teams from Pennsylvania since 2008 ... BU is 6-0 at home for the first time in school history ... the Bulldogs have amassed 27 rushing touchdowns this season, the second-highest total in school history ... Bryant is two interceptions shy of setting a school record for interceptoins in a season (15) ... sophomore RB Jordan Brown - the NEC's leading rusher - eclipsed the 100-yard mark for the ninth time this season with 138 yards vs. Robert Morris ... Brown, who has 1,311 yards on 247 carries (131.1 ypg.), leads the NEC in rushing touchdowns (15), rushing yards (1,311), rushing yards/g. (131.1) and all-purpose yards/g. (179.2).
SAINT FRANCIS LEFTOVERS: Duquesne upped its series lead to 31-6 and extended Saint Francis' road losing streak to 18 games with the 41-17 victory ... with the win, DU finished with a 5-1 home record, marking the first time the Dukes have posted five home wins since the 2003 Mid-Major National Championship team went 6-0 on Rooney Field ... sophomore quarterback Sean Patterson (Toledo, Ohio/St. John's Jesuit) completed 13-of-21 passes for 278 yards and a career high five touchdowns (79, 44, 10, 10 & 9) in earning NEC Offensive P-O-W ... he completed 7-of-9 passes for 191 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another in the second quarter alone ... seniors Dave Williams (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) and Connor Dixon (South Park, Pa./South Park) both topped the 100-yard receiving mark in their final home game ... Williams finished with five catches for 100 yards and Dixon had 5 grabs for 109 yards ... it was the fourth career 100-yard game for Williams (third this season) and second for Dixon (both this year) ... this was the first time Duquesne had two 100-yard receivers in the same game since Michael Rasky (3-105) and Bruce Hocker (4-104) reached the century mark in a 28-19 loss to Bucknell on Sept. 1, 2007 ... senior linebacker Nathan Totino (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton-La Salle) had a game-high 10 tackles in addition to his first career interception ... it was his third consecutive double-digit tackle game and 19th double-digit tackle game of his career ... sophomore running back Larry McCoy (Wytheville, Va./George Wythe) carried 22 times for 101 yards ... it was his fifth 100-yard game this season and ninth of his career ... McCoy has topped the 100-yard mark in five of seven NEC games ... McCoy has gained at least 74 yards in every game this season.
