Dukes 10th of 23 at Lafayette Invitational

Center Valley, Pa. - Duquesne University's golf team cut two strokes from par off the team score on Saturday to finish 10th in the 23 team Lafayette Invitational, held at the Center Valley Golf Club this weekend. The course was recalibrated to a par 71 for the second day's action. Two athletes led Duquesne's charge. Senior Andy Kwiatkowski carded a 78 for a two-day total of 155 strokes. Freshman Jon Pratkanis had a one-under par 70, the second best mark of the day, and tied his upperclassmen teammate with a 155 total. That was 15 strokes better the frosh's result on Friday, an uncharacteristic 85. The Dukes, who won this event in 2002, put together a 36-hole total of 623, good for 10th place, two strokes shy of ninth place Lafayette. American University won the competition with a mark of 595. Siena's Bryan Bigley won the individual crown with a score of 142. Duquesne's next action is again on the road on Wednesday, April 13th for the one-day Indiana University of Pennsylvania Invitational. Duquesne Scores
