Dukes Move Up 2 Slots At A-10 Championships

Kettering, Ohio - Sophomore Mike Namey (Hermitage, PA / Kennedy Christian) for the second day paced the Dukes at the Atlantic 10 Golf Championship held on the South Course of the NCR Country Club in the Dayton area. Namey shot a 79 and is tied for 21st overall with a score of 156. Duquesne's second round of 323 (650) moved the Red and Blue ahead of Fordham (660) and La Salle (679). Saint Joseph's took first place from round one leaders Dayton and Xavier with a day two round of 297, the lowest round this weekend on the par-71 course which measures 6,733 yards. Xavier's Andy Pope took sole possession of first place. Pope is one over par (143) having shot a 70 in day one action and a 73 on Satuday. The final round of the three-day 54 hole Championship will start at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 4. The 11 teams will all start at the same time with teams in first though sixth place (Saint Joseph's, Dayton, Xavier, Temple, George Washington and Richmond) starting at hole one and the remaining teams (Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, Duquesne, Fordham and La Salle) starting at the tenth-tee.
