Middleton, R.I. - Because of an ominous weather forecast for the weekend, Atlantic 10 officials decided to attempt to get 36 holes in Friday at Newport National Golf Club. The 54-hole tournament was originally scheduled for 18 holes on each weekend day. Duquesne shot best-four-of-five rounds of 323 and 321, one of five schools to complete 36 holes Friday at the par-72, 7,244-yard Newport National Golf Club. Junior Andy Kwiatkowski paced the Dukes with identical rounds of 77. All teams completed 27 holes with Xavier, Richmond, Rhode Island, Saint Joseph's, Dayton and Fordham scheduled to complete their second round Saturday morning. Xavier leads the tournament with a five-under par 427 after 27 holes. Duquesne sits 11th after 1 1/2 rounds with a 483, a stroke behind La Salle's 482. However since the Dukes finished the back nine with 161 strokes to the Explorers' 165, Duquesne is in at least 10th place with a 36-hole total of 644 to LSU's 647. Xavier's Jason Kokrak leads after one round with a five-under par 67, four strokes in front of teammate Neal Grusczynski and Saint Joseph's Billy Stewart. Duquesne
