Ryan D'Onofrio Paced Dukes At SBU Tourney

Olean, N.Y. - Sophomore Ryan D'Onofrio finished in a tie for fourth place among 80 golfers following Monday's final round of the 17th St. Bonaventure Leo Keenan Invitational at Bartlett Country Club. The Denver, Colo. native bettered his first day's effort with a 72 for an event total 145, five over par. The Dukes shot a combined 44-over par and finished in 11th place in the 15-team, two-day event. Freshman Drew Ellis was three strokes behind his teammate in a tie for 25th (72-76: 148) and junior Brandon Lawatsch cut five-strokes from Sunday's round to move up into a tie for 49th (79-74: 153). The host Bonnies topped Drexel in the first playoff hole for their 11th championship at this event. Drexel's Keith Snyder's one-under par 139 took medalist honors by three shots over Aaron Ungvarsky of Binghamton. SBU's Ben Howe was one stroke back in third. Duquesne returns to action next week beginning Tuesday, October 11, 2005, at the two-day Robert Morris Crowne Plaza Colonial Classic at Montour Heights Country Club in Coraopolis, Pa.
