Dukes Charge to 3rd at RMU Classic

Coraopolis, Pa. - Sophomore Mike Edwards (Ann Arbor, MI / Saline)and senior Andy Kwiatkowski (Apalachin, NY / Owego Free Academy) each shot two-over par 74s Tuesday to lead Duquesne's golf team to a third place finish at the two-day, two-round Robert Morris 11th Annual Crowne Plaza Colonial Classic at the Montour Heights Country Club. The Dukes cut eight strokes from Monday's round to move from fifth to third at this seven-team event. Edwards, who was tied for 14th on Monday, finished in a tie for seventh with an eight-over par 152 (78-74). Kwiatkowski and freshman Ryan D'Onofrio (Denver, CO / Pomona) were one stroke back in a tie for ninth.
Loyola (MD) won the event with a two-day score of 602 (310-292). Dayton's Rob Chappell took the individual title shooting four-over par 148 (72-76). The Dukes return to action on Saturday, October 15, 2005, when they travel to Binghamton for the Bearcats' NBT Bank Classic.
