Dukes Rained Out at Lafayette Invitational

April 8, 2006

Easton, Pa. - The opening day of the Lafayette College Spring Invitational has been cancelled due to overnight rains that continued into late morning in the Lehigh Valley. The field of 21 schools will play 18 holes on Sunday.

Lafayette head coach Jim Hutnik said there were no signs of conditions improving at the Center Valley Club after the golfers were out for nearly three hours early this morning. After meeting with the other head coaches, Hutnik decided to cancel today's round and resume play on Sunday.

The teams will play 18 holes for the invitational title beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
