Diego Vieira, who completed his playing career at Duquesne last season, is in his first year as a member of the men's soccer coaching staff.

The native of Belo Horizonte, Brazil played in 35 matches - with 17 starts - in two seasons at Duquesne following his transfer from Division II Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tenn.

Vieira finished fourth on the team in shots (24) in starting 12 matches in 2016. His season was highlighted by a game-winning penalty kick that gave the Dukes a 1-0 win over VCU in the 93rd minute.

Vieira, who finished his DU career with 42 shots (12 on goal) and a pair of goals, played in 36 of a possible 37 matches with 30 starts in two seasons at Christian Brothers. He attempted 56 shots, including 19 on goal and scored three times (with five assists) at CBU. He finished his Christian Brothers career with 26 consecutive starts.

Vieira completed his undergraduate degree in integrated marketing communication in May of 2017.
