Josh Faga, a former standout player at Marist who has also competed at the professional level, joined the men's soccer coaching staff in August of 2014.

The third-year coach made his presence felt in year one by helping the Dukes put together an attack that led the Atlantic 10 Conference in both scoring offense and points per game. Last year, Faga helped DU to a tie for fourth in the A-10 and return appearance to the Atlantic 10 Championship.

In addition to his tactical contributions, Faga is a Specialist in Strength and Conditioning through the International Sports Sciences Association as well as a Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He is also a World Football Academy Specialist in Football Periodisation, where he works daily with subjective data collection of arbitrary training load units comparatively to player wellness.

An All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference player as an undergrad, Faga signed his first professional contract with the Rochester Rhinos (USLPRO) in March of 2013 and played for the Rhinos prior to moving on to the Rochester Lancers of the MASL where he competed up until being hired by Duquesne.

Faga began his collegiate career at St. John's where he played in 19 games, with 11 starts, as a redshirt freshman for the Red Storm's 2009 Big East champion and NCAA tournament qualifier. A Big East All-Academic honoree, he was a redshirt when SJU made its run to the 2008 College Cup semifinal.

Faga also earned all-academic honors while at Marist.

Born in Lexington, Ky., Faga was raised in Rochester, N.Y. where played soccer and wrestled for McQuaid Jesuit High School. He spent time in Florence, Italy as a youth where his interest in soccer flourished.

He completed his undergraduate degree in business marketing at Marist in 2012 and added an MBA in strategic management, also from Marist, in 2013.
