Men's Soccer Takes Down IPFW, 2-1
Duquesne's men's soccer team trailed 1-0 at halftime, but scored two second hald goals to take a 2-1 victory over IPFW Sunday afternoon at the Pitt Invitational.
The Dukes surrendered a goal in the 37th minute on a misplay by their defense. However, Joshua Patterson tied the score in the 58th minute with his team-best fourth goal of the season off assists from Colin Phillips and Nick DiSomma. The Red and Blue captured the lead and the victory as Karter Sell scored in the 82nd minute on a penalty kick.
The Dukes outshot the Mastodons, 21-7 led by seven shots by Patterson and six by Sell.
The Red and Blue return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 12 as they host Robert Morris at 7:30 pm on Rooney Field.
