The men's soccer team improved to 4-0-2 with a 5-0 blanking of Robert Morris in the Dukes' home opener at Rooney Field.

Senior David Gingrich (Export, PA / Penn-Trafford) scored the lone goal of the first half in the 25th minute, then added a second goal 11 minutes into the second half to pace the Red and Blue. Sophomore Derek Mackenzie (Carnegie, PA / Chartiers Valley), senior James Tarone (Rockville, MD / Thomas Wooton) and senior Brian McNelis (Reading, PA / Exeter Twp.) each found the net later in the half within five minutes of each other to put the contest out of reach.

Senior goalkeeper Terry McNelis (Reading, PA / Exeter Twp.) stopped five Colonials shots while posting his fourth shutout of the season. Accumulating assists on the day were junior Dan Hartung (Reading, PA / Wilson), freshman Andrew Bell (New Marske, Redcar, England / Huntcliff Secondary) (2), Tarone, sophomore Trocon Reffell (Houston, TX / Cypress Creek), Mackenzie and senior Christian Reinecker (Reading, PA / Exeter Twp.).

The Dukes return to action on Sunday, Sept. 22 as they host the St. Francis (PA) Red Flash (3-3-0) at 1:00 pm on Rooney Field.
