Philadelphia, PA -- - Duquesne's men's soccer team (8-1-3, 3-0-1 A10) took a
1-0 shut out from the host Temple Owls ((5-8, 2-3 A-10) Sunday afternoon at Temple Stadium. The Dukes grabbed their third straight Atlantic 10 victory to remain undefeated in conference play this season.

The Dukes scored in the 21st minute of period one when Nathan Salsi (North Huntingdon, PA / Norwin) scored on a header off a corner kick that gave Duquesne a 1-0 advantage. Juniors Dan Hartung (Reading, PA / Wilson) and Damien Pottinger (Scarborough, Ontario / Mother Teresa) assisted on the score.

The Owls were outshot in the first period but came back in the second half and came just shy of tying the game when junior Matt Moran kicked the ball just a 1/2 foot over the post.

Both goalkeepers had solid games. Duquesne goalie Terry McNelis (Reading, PA / Exeter Twp.) grabbed nine saves as did Owls goalie Patrick Hannigan.

The Dukes, currently ranked at number 7 in the NSCAA's Mid-Atlantic region, will complete their regular season travel schedule when they head to Amherst, Massachusetts for a 3:30 p.m. game with UMass (8-4-0, 4-0-0 A10) on Friday. Then on Sunday, Duquesne will meet Rhode Island (9-4-0, 4-0-0 A10) at 1:00 p.m. at the URI Soccer Complex in Kingston, RI. The Rams are sixth and the Minutemen ninth in the New England region. The other ranked A10 squad is St. Bonaventure at number four in the New York region.
